Same! This issue happens to me every time I move over 1 or 2 chunks from where I’ve been building for some five minutes or so, or whenever I open an inventory/chest like you’ve mentioned. At first I thought that is was when I loaded chunks too fast, since it would usually occur after flying fast in creative mode over large chunks, but it also started occurring even when I moved slowly/ just walking from place to place. However, the latter option crashes much less so than the former.
I didn’t think that it would be tied to the autosave, but that makes a lot of sense. It’s been happening since the copper age drop for me. My friends say it’s because of the add-ons I have on the world, but that really shouldn’t matter because I don’t have many--- but my world is also several years old. It’s really frustrating as you can imagine, and no one seems to be talking about this online, but it cannot only just be me having this issue. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling my game, it does not fix anything. Copying worlds doesn’t do anything either. I have not seen if this happens on any other world or not since I only play on this singular world.
I’ve had this same issue since the copper age drop. I mostly play on a creative flat world I’ve had for almost ten years, it has a lot of addons (like maybe seven or more??) and it seems to be the only world affected by the crashing.
My game seems to crash whenever I move outside of a four-chunk area(sometimes larger, sometimes smaller) that I’ve been building in for a while or the area surrounding where I was loaded into the game. It first started when I sprinted while flying and the world just seemed like it hadn’t completely caught up before I tried to build again or open my inventory. Blocks would place, but there’d be no sound, if I tried to break something it would break it, not play the sound, and lag. However, mobs, animations, the rest of my game seems fine, there’s no lag anywhere else. When trying to open objects with inventories, the chest would open, but the inventory wouldn’t show. And then after a minute or so of my game freezing, the game crashes and shows an error message “terracotta.” My game would only freeze after I tried to open an inventory, but my game would crash whenever after I left that main area.
I’ve read that someone said they thought it had to do with the auto save? But I don’t know if that makes sense because my game doesn’t crash every time the game saves, really only when I move to another area too fast or after I’ve been playing for a while. After the first crash, the time period between crashes seems to decrease. But again, my game only crashes after I move a few chunks over, and only freezes after I open my inventory after moving.
This bug makes the game nearly unplayable since after a few crashes the game crashes every ten minutes. It’s incredibly frustrating and I don’t understand why it’s not fixed already. This has been a problem for months now, and as unplayable as it is, it should be fixed--- or at the least properly acknowledged by the devs. I’m really tired of seeing my inbox filled with marketplace ads when I’d like to know whether my game is gonna be f-ed up forever or not.
