I had this issue as well on android. I had to log out during an ominous trial, so my best guess is that I ran out of trial omen during a loading screen or something. It acted like a normal spawner except the mobs it spawned had the weapons and trimmed armor like in an ominous trial. (Also it's a baby zombie spawner so I officially have the worst block in Minecraft XD)
I have done a few ominous trials and regular trials in my world, and the glitch only seems to be affecting the 1 baby zombie spawner and 1 skeleton spawner in the trial chamber, and no other spawners. The only think special about them if it's not the loading screen issue is that for a bit they were right next to my "home base", so I was there right when the cooldown finished.
