Same. It’s not a storage issue and hugely irritating.

I have been experiencing the same problem except, it would appear, when I'm in the nether upon quitting the game. Although I have not exhaustively tested this, it has not recurred at all anytime I'm in the nether when I quit.

Perhaps I failed to make my point. My health doesn’t regenerate ANYMORE in peaceful mode, which has only occurred since I updated to the current version on my iPhone.
