I read some of the comments and have to say that I've been experiencingthis glitch after 1.8.1 as you ride on a horse. I play on windows 10 and have been on Xbox one and android pocket edition and it's still there. I have made copies before and even restarted the world but no matter what you do the horse still lags it out and sometimes after you load back in you die in the middle of nowhere. No way to find your way back bc it's instant death as soon as you log back in. Believe it's a horse glitch because otherwise the world doesn't border
Just to add on, I had a similar glitch with portals in 1.13 where you'd spawn 10k+ away and you'd not be able to return and when you did find it, it didn't exist. It'd also rarely duplicate a portal near the portal you'd built such as a duplicate spawn portal linking up to the same portal. In the nether
