Update on this issue by
@unknown
17 Jan 19 - Thank you for everyone who has reported this issue. We are aware that this issue usually occurs after the player has been riding on a horse, and should only be affecting players in the 1.8 version of the game now.
This bug is fixed in the 1.9 beta, and the fix will be included in the 1.9 update when that is ready for full release (no specific date can be given). We will leave this ticket open as a point of reference until the fix has been fully released.
Normaiiy when you are generating chunks at a high speed :v some chunks just don't update correctly and nothing can go inside of those chunks and the mobs or entities in general are bugged and don't move, refreshing the chunks don't solve the problem and the entities that go inside the chunks (For example: Arrows or snowballs) are converted in bugged entities also.
You can't access to the chunk or chunks because a invisible wall is stopping you.
Sorry for my bad English, I'm a newbie with your language and thanks for your work and attention. š

Are you able to provide steps to reproduce the error, and/or a copy of the world save where this has happened?

Of course I'll do it right now!.

Hello!, I make a video to show you how to reproduce the bugs.
This is the link:
Is private and was uploaded to my personal channel is not spam just for simplicity.
But, the steps to reproduce the bug and the bugs related to this bug are these:
1: Obtain a fast horse and run!.
2: Go away from your initial location at least the render distance configured in your game. (Was 5 in my case)
3: Return to the initial position where you begin the experiment and if you run a little bit more from the initial point against where you come in your first trip (Once you are there of course -after you have returned from the first trip) the bug appears.
Ā

In the video looks like the entities are bugged but for some reason the entities have a invisible doppelganger because (Like you can see in the video) invisible entities beat me with tridents when there is no drowned, also, arrows that enter inside the bugged chunks dissapear or bounce strangely and are freezed in the air.
The world is in my Mega Cloud account, and here is the link to that world:

Affects 1.9.0.2 according to MCPE-38374.

I have just uploaded a video (attachments) sorry for my english

The glitch doesn't seem to occur whenever my render distance is at a higher level.

Okay, it didn't seem to work nvm.

Driven crazy by this on Nintendo Switch. Moving fast, boat/minecart/flying is annoying at times

Experiencing same issue when playing co-op with survival world on Xbox one and second player on Windows 10 on PC. Both have latest available update 1.8.0. However, invisible wall is in different place for each of us. Have only run into it when on horses. Can get past it if we quit game them repoen world. Makes it super tedious to get to the stronghold requiring half a dozen restarts.

Windows 10 Bedrock 1.8.0 Have the same problem when on a fast horse, eventually i run into a invisible wall that can not be passed without restarting the server. Have recreated the bug on three different horses, cannot duplicate when on a boat or on foot. Bug seems to occur when traveling faster then 8.0 m/s

When playing on a realm with multiple people logged in, it doesnāt even have to be a fast rate of speed thanks to the underpowered realms serversvĀ

Happens to me when I'm on the switch riding a horse. It happens to me on 1.8.0. I'll exit and load up the game again and I'll be dead. I when I get back into my world I appear dead at world spawn because I apparently fell from a high place. Makes it very annoying to play the game.

this issue has not been resolved for me! I still hit an invisible wall. I do seem to be able to travel farther before I hit it but I still hit an invisible wall on my survival game

this issue has already caused me to loose all my progress in my survival gameĀ and I am done with the game altogether until it is resolved. very frustrating to spend 35$ and over 20$ on in game content and the game wont work proper and to loses my progress and time spent on it on top of that. thank you for your concern.

Nintendo Switch here. Experiencing the corrupted chunk when riding a horse. Half the time this occurs and I reload my game, I end up dead on reload. I've lost enchanted items because of this glitch; when I try to return to where I was located before reloading, none of my items are there. This is extremely frustrating.

Affects multiplayer games. When I was on one of my friend's worlds my friend mentioned this and called it a "forcefield", after trying to get past the invisible wall another one of my friends said to "report to" this ticket

Getting this issue on Windows 10 too, latest version, only seems to happen on a horse and in survival (I haven't tested further).
Quitting the game is the only fix right now and makes it extremely frustrating when adventuring beyond your home/base/village.
Seems to be a distance + speed issue. I can travel till I hit the bug then quit and load back up but it will happen again if I keep travelling in that direction. Feels like a load error, like it's running out of memory but I have 20GB of RAM in my setup so it can't be a lack of memory for terrain generation.
I also get a hang in the game where everything stops moving; villagers, mobs, animals, particles, tile drops, etc. but I am free to move, mine and the daylight cycle still rotates. This happens for a few minutes then it fixes itself, then computes the actions made after the hang began (even to the point that if it has turned night during the hang it blinks back to daylight upon fixing itself). I will be making a seperate report on this issue. >> MCPE-39880
Thanks for looking into this issue as it is highly frustrating š

Here is a video on what I am getting, this is pure gameplay, no voice, no advertising and purely for this purpose: https://youtu.be/f1W9SbEz19s

Update: I got stuck in the invisible wall. I waited 10 minutes, hoping that it would update; it never did. When I exited my game and attempted to reload it, the entire game crashed. After a hour of attempting to do some troubleshooting (restarting the Switch, redownloading Minecraft, entering a different save first, changing texture packs, etc), I still was not able to load my save without crashing the entire title.
Are any players getting this bug in the latest 1.9 beta version?

The world that I was playing on was a 1.9 beta world. I should have put that in my above comment, that my friend made us download the beta before we could all play together.

I have experienced this issue in my realm in versions 1.7 and 1.8.Ā It actually seems to be getting worse for me.
It only seems to happen to me when I am exploring distant areas on horseback.Ā I always have a locator map in my off hand when exploring like this.Ā When it does happen, the world goes really haywire:
Mob movement slows to a crawl (this happens quite often anyway)
Mobs are not necessarily positioned where they are drawn (eg. I get hit by a husk that appears to be out of range)
When I managed to shoot and kill a mob beyond the "invisible wall", its drops flickered rapidly.
Logging out and back in will fix the issue temporarily.

i hope they will fix this for windows 10 pc edition too!Ā

Having same issue on Window 10 PC Edition as well. Just recently when I hit the wall, I disconnected and quickly reconnected and my player died. Seems that if you are pushing up against the wall and choose to disconnect/reconnect quickly, you end up getting killed by it. Will try to replicate at later time again.
Windows 10 - 1.8

Yep can confirm this nasty bug is happening on Bedrock Xbox One even on the new update but it to me only happens on horseback and and entity or mob freezes and jitters when in the invisible chunk, you can however walk around the chunk but it will then happen within the next few chunks. So basically an endless cycle of invisible chunks, it is rather game breaking as it makes horse riding (which is my preferred form of travel) impossible.

yo Mojang could you at least give us a time line on when this might be fixed? are you gonna make us wait until the next update before you fix this? the game is unplayable for me right now and would very much appreciate if it was fixed sooner than later.
Ā

Today I was in a long long trip looking for a Stronghold on a horse with a diamond horse armor. And I stuck into a "transparent" wall not able to go forward. I was playing in a LAN. So I did a quit and save, then I returned back to the map, appearing at the same place, but this time I was allowed to move forward. Unfortunately, after some time I faced with the issue again. I exited the game, returned back, but the worst thing happened: chunk was not generated, and I had fallen down into infinity, lost my horse, the armor, goods, and a lot of crafted stuff. Now I'm done. Version is 1.8.0, it was not happen in the previous version.
Ā
Ā

I paid a realm and i can't play because of this bug. š (windows 10)

This would be in response to James, I had the same issue happen to me upon the second ādisconnect/reconnectā on a LAN game. What I found out was that my supplies were randomly dropped near a river by the original map spawn. I recommend you revisit the original spawn point and sweep about 50 blocks in a circle and see if your supplies are still floating around. Not sure itāll work, but thatās what happen in my case when I lost all my diamond tools...devastating... Please give us an update Mojang! Either game update or even a simple comment of faith!Ā

Dying on spawn point maybe entirely different bug, but I got it too... Save whenever you want, and upon re-entering world, you're dead on spawn sometimes... gg wp.
The issue that can result in the player either dying or falling when rejoining a world is being tracked in the related ticket MCPE-38374.
This issue with the "invisible wall" being present (often after riding a horse) should be fixed in the latest beta version (1.9.0.3).

I've also experienced this. Its reproducible by riding a fast horse, using a boat, or sprinting.Ā
It seems to be that you become stuck and de-synced in a way. When there are 2 people on the server, only 1 will be effected at a time. Monsters in the chunk will continue to work, but will become invisible if they cross the barrier.Ā
Ā
It also appears as if things "vibrate" at the border between the glitched chunk and a working one.Ā
Ā
Logging out and logging back in fixes the issue temporarily.Ā

Interestingly, I've not had any issues with this while flying with an elytra, even at high speeds and great distances. I even tried it over previously undiscovered areas.

Well, I tried pretty everything, I think it happens exclusively with horses somehow... =/

Just had this problem a few hours ago. I was cruising along in my boat across the sea, when I suddenly ran into this invisible barrier and every mob around me started vibrating in place. I kept trying to go past the invisible barrier by moving between chunks, but that didn't work.Ā Even weirder, I had gotten out of the boat while the world was glitched, and after walking out of the boat, I fell through the water as if it were air and died of fall damage.

This keeps happening to me as well. It's usually when I'm riding a horse as I'm traveling much faster, however I have had it happen when walking far distances. Save and quitting is a temporary fix, however I do like to play co-operatively and it can be very annoying.

This is also happening to me. Wanted to go see if I could find Bamboo or Pandas but cannot do so after running into invisible barriers. On a side note, will a jungle biome spawn in a survival area previously explored?

I am having this problem as well, mostly while riding very fast horses but sometimes when just running. It seems I need to cross at least a zoom level 2/4 map to trigger it. Ā Iām seeing the bug multiple times per day now as Iāve been traveling back and forth between two houses that are approx. seven of the zoom level 2/4 maps away from each other.
It seems to correspond with server backup times and the map chunk acts like it has been locked into read only mode. It can not be accessed, only seen. Most recently I discovered you can see enemies, and they are usually stopped mid stride and jittering. Unfortunately, that is only their skins as their invisible doppelgängers come attack you on the accessible chunks.  When I encounter the issue I used to just log off and back on and that would usually resolve it.
One time, during a two player game, after I restarted my copy of MCPE, the other player was still stuck and had to reboot theirs too, in order to get into the frozen map chunk. Ā I canāt be fully sure, but saving the game on that chunk shortly after unlocking it with a reboot seems to result in a random death when you log back in and your stuff being missing from the place you purportedly died. Ā (Similar to falling from a high place when you save on a bed, but no bed required and the message simply says you died.)
Most recently, under the backup theory, I stuck around for one of the map chunk freezes (but not too close since an invisible creeper got me) and discovered it resolves on its own.
Every time it happened since I realized it was acting like a locked database has been during one of the hourly server backups. Ā While I do appreciate backups, Iād rather not keep getting blown up by invisible creepers and having my save location āforgottenā.

@Belmeeezy Thank you so much! I found our stuff there at the world spawn. I would never have thought to look there had you not mentioned it.
ETA: The more I think about this the weirder it is, because after dying in connection with this bug, I respawned at my bed, not at the world spawn. Why would my stuff be at world spawn when I hadnāt been there in what must be weeks, and always had a bed as my spawn location? I donāt die until after Iāve relogged in, so this leads me to believe that Iām somehow being assigned a bad coordinate value when Iām near (or in, by virtue of a prior reboot) the frozen chunk.
Additionally, I have found so far that I donāt die if I make sure to move away from the frozen chunk enough before saving/restarting. I suspect I was logging off within the spawn radius of the frozen chunk whenever I died on log in.

To inform the recent comments, there are two separate bugs being discussed. This bug is about chunks that aren't being generated, usually when exploring too fast over previously unknown territory. (I believe that internally, the requests for chunk generation are overflowing a queue so the later chunks never get generated.) This leaves void holes in the world. Players cannot enter the void chunks. Mobs can spawn in them and enter from outside, but they become stuck and just jitter in place. Edit: I'm informed that I misunderstood the symptoms of this bug. Nevertheless, there are two distinct bugs being discussed.
The other bug is MCPE-38374, about spawning at world spawn and falling to your death (or having the death screen right after you load), even if you set your spawn point with a bed. It seems to happen only when you save while at certain positions that may vary depending on the world seed. Though not directly related to this bug, it might be triggered if this bug causes you to die somehow.

Another friend of mine mentioned that the issue happened in three different locations at the same time. Wow, this issue makes the game a challenge

I've experienced the inability to travel past an invisible wall as well, but it happens even on well-known territory. I can see mobs and everything happening on the other side of the wall, but can't get past it unless I log out/in or go through a portal and back. It always seems to occur when sprinting along or riding on a horse.
Ā

Auldrick, the two bugs are definitely linked. Reproduce the bug via the original steps and then run up against the invisible wall and save/quit while up against it. It happens about half the time, so whatever bad map value is characterizing the other bug is somehow being triggered by frozen chunks.
Unfortunately, had it not been for this thread discussing both bugs, I would not have known I was generating at world spawn at all: it seems to do that in between when I save/quit and log back in. I spawn in my last bed location immediately after logging in and if I open the chat I can see the death notice. It doesnāt even show in the top corner about half the time.
Feel free to correct me if Iām wrong, but it seems everyone with the other bug and only the other bug gets to see that theyāre at world spawn.

Ruined our realms, both of them.Ā Just guna stop paying for realms until its sorted š
Ā Ā If this has been going for months why is it not sorted for paying monthly customerrs?

@unknown: When I say they're distinct bugs, I mean that there are plenty of people who experience the fall-to-your-death-on-load bug who have never seen the invisible-wall bug, so the second is only coincidentally causing ("triggering") the first.
@unknown: That's a question for the community coordinators, whom you can contact via the bugs subReddit or the official Discord channel for bug reporting and questions. We who work on the bug tracker have no information about what's going on with bugs after we report them to the developers. All we do is screen reports to eliminate duplicates and gather additional information we think is needed.

Just checking to see if anyone has confirmed the issue is no longer present in 1.9.0.3 as per @Mega_Spud

I have had this happen to me multiple times, with or without horses. A invisible wall will appear in front and then behind me. It normally fixes itself when I reload the world. A word of cation when you do this, something may happen when you do this that should not have happened. I was riding my horse, the wall appeared, I reloaded the game, and when I came back a creeper had blown up my horse. Now I put my horses in a safe place before I do this and it seems to work for anyone in 1.8.

Beware this also affects you while in the water , while using a lasso I ran into the wall which made the water blocks glitch and fall 50 blocks to the bottom of the ocean and die

This bug may be connected to a different bug. Sometimes, when I log back in I will get the teleporting to your spawn point in the sky bug. Note that I do get this bug, invisible wall or not, but it seems to happen more when I log out while trapped by an invisible wall. This is also in 1.8.

I'm having the same issue on the Switch.

Same issue on xbox 1 s

is it resolved now? @kevin palencia

@Matteo no its not

this bug along with invisible / invincible entities & mobs and randomly teleportation up into the sky is making it impossible to play the game.
can confirm all are happening to me and my friend on his realm constantly.
cant play for even 5 minutes if using horses without crashing into a invisible wall and being attacked by invisible stuff,Ā
cant log off safely because ill be either killed during the incredibly long log-out and log-on times in which the game seems still to run, has been this way since pandas where added and has been getting progressively worse
bedrock edition
windows 10, androidĀ

Iām having the same issue Ā on the Xbox oneĀ

I am experiencing this same issue on my xbox one console. It seems to only happen when I am on a horse exploring a new map. The horse will lose the ability to run over 1 block high ledges and then I will hit an invisible wall.

Same on latest Win10/Bedrock.
It started happening when I took my horse out to a village I had walked by a couple days prior. I punched a mob just opposite the invisible wall. It turned red and stayed that way. I tried following the edge of the area and got stuck in a river; had to travel a dozen blocks away before I could jump again to climb back on land. I turned around, and some 20 blocks back the mob I punched had disappeared.Ā
Edit: built a wooden shack at said area to keep myself and my horse safe through the night; got bombarded with potions by an invisible mob when I tried to leave in the morning. Turning away from the area, I poked a hole in the wall and tried to place a block on the ground one square further away. The block flashes briefly and returns to my inventory. Blocks can be placed in any adjacent spot.
Now I live in a 2x2 hole in the ground with a half-dead horse, and my face is getting longer than his.

It only usually occurs for one player in different areas. A simple solution would be for the second player that is experiencing the problem to ride in a boat with the unaffected player driving the affected player through the wall

I've also had this issue when playing multiplayer co-op. if player 2 hits a wall they can leave and rejoin in a matter of seconds. if only player 1 could do the same without forcing player 2 to quit, it wouldn't be such a gamebreaking bug.

Hello. I am consistently getting this issue in my current world on v 1.8.1 of xbox one. When my girlfriend and I are playing in our world, either sometimes on a horse or even moving around this issue is still happening. Last night I was bringing my horse through water and hit the invisible wall. After not being able to go left or right around it I had to save and quit
Upon returning well I died and my horse did as well. This wall happens everywhere and even affects the mobs in game as they seem to freeze in place like statues. You can run up to them and kill them and they still stand there frozen, or sometimes attack you and there is nothing there. This is honestly the most frustrating bug in a game that can possibly happen. Please resolve this asap! Having to save and quit and rejoin my game every 5 minutes is honestly making me not play this game anymore. After last night of consistent wall hitting I am very frustrated.

Sorry. Not going to limit comments to 1.9 and not going to burn time on backup copies.Ā Same issues. Invisible walls and being dropped back at origin. Ya'll need to fix this mess or I need my $4 fee for realms for the month back.

This is an issue that needs to be fixed as soon as possible. It should be the main priority to fix this bug because itās affecting everyone on this update. This is unfair Ā especially for people who pay to have realms but canāt even use their world under certain circumstances and even anybody who wants to ride easily accessible entities like horses, boats, etc. wonāt be able to. Especially with the fact that the release date for 1.9 hasnāt even been announced yet could mean that weāll just have to deal with these issues for over a month possibly. Iām not a developer or a bugs expert, but I say you should compare the game between these two versions, find the issue in 1.8.1, and resolve it as soon as possible before the release of 1.9.

I had a similar problem that happened most often on boats. It would do the invisible wall thing and if you were able to push past it it would deal you half a heart of damage. Also the fish in particular bugged out by flopping from left to right in the same point.

Is the falling to death at spawn bug getting worse as my map gets explored? I swear I'm logging on to find myself dead like every other time... really hard to play when I lost all my gear if I leave spawn!!!

@unknown: That's a different bug, MCPE-38374, but several people have mentioned that it often follows this one so there may be a connection. (However, many more people have that bug without this one, so there may not be.) In any case, both bugs should be fixed in the 1.9 release.

Just had is bug for the first time, it was while riding a horse and it was just after if fell to the ground after spawning (MCPE-38374) I don't usually ride so I did not mention it in my comment in that bug.Ā

I am also experiencing this bug. It is a nuisance because I'm confined to a 300 or 400 block radius around the spawn point. I didn't experiment with the invisible wall much,Ā but I did try going around it, which was unsuccessful.Ā
The spawn point death glitch has been a problem for me also,Ā so I wouldn't be scared to say these bugs are intertwined somehow.Ā
Thank you and Hope this gets fixed soon!

I read some of the comments and have to say that I've been experiencingthis glitch after 1.8.1 as you ride on a horse. I play on windows 10 and have been on Xbox one and android pocket edition and it's still there. I have made copies before and even restarted the world but no matter what you do the horse still lags it out and sometimes after you load back in you die in the middle of nowhere. No way to find your way back bc it's instant death as soon as you log back in. Believe it's a horse glitch because otherwise the world doesn't border

Affects 1.9.0

I can't reproduce in 1.9.0 so far, was riding on horse for a few kilometers, no wall happened. I hope it's fixed.

this is happening in 1.9 chucks are very slow to load, and cashing invisible blocks to appearĀ

I also have the same problem. I have an old world and the last blocks of the edge are invisible.

I can reproduce by going to the Nether and then leaving

@unknown: Would you be able to upload a copy of your world, preferably just before going to the Nether? A world that can reliably reproduce the issue would be a big help!

going to fast into unloaded chunks cause the invisible wall this can happen on any worldĀ
going to the nether loads a new world so going back loads the whole wold again making unloaded
chunks.Ā
Ā
I forget to say that you can't undermine any block or interact with the entities inside of those chunks.
Also the problem is only fixed when you restart the game and is very annoying do that process, but bugs are normal and your work compensate those bugs. Thank you very much. š
