I am also not seeing the disconnects nearly as much, but have noted that my towns that had upwards of 50 villagers are now more than 75% babies and most of the adults are gone – perpetually. lol
I'm seeing some kind of pattern like @unknown is noticing too. I have a large area of flowing water, and where it flows across a merge-area of two biomes it always disconnects me if I approach the border of the two biomes. No portals needed for me. It could also be the border between two chunks.
Mine disconnects and reverts even if I'm the only player in the world and I have not been to the end or nether in quite a while (weeks). Just logging in to the overworld and standing there looking around it will within 15 minutes disconnect me. A random interval, mind you – anywhere from 2 to 15 minutes no matter where I am or what I'm doing.
I am experiencing these disconnects and reversions to older auto-saves too. After about 5 to 10 minutes of play, by myself, in a Bedrock 10-player realm, I get disconnected and everything reverts back to the beginning save. If I estimate that the time is coming when I will get disconnected, and I manually "save and quit" the game before it happens, upon re-entering the realm It will have been reverted back to the last auto-save again or it will continue where my "save & quit" saved but disconnect me again shortly thereafter and revert back to the auto-save before my manual save once more.
If I just keep redoing my build and re-entering the server every time I get disconnected, I sometimes get a little further into my build when an auto-save successfully saves it. I build over and over again, 5 steps forward 4 steps back... very frustrating. Sometimes the Switch won't connect at all to the realm, timing out before it connects several times before allowing me in.
It happens whether I'm playing with high or low video settings, default skin or custom, on my Nintendo Switch or my Windows 10 machine. It is a vanilla survival realm on normal mode with the default texture enforced. Running Minecraft Bedrock version 1.16.201 on the realm, Windows 10, and Nintendo Switch. Windows 10 and Switch are completely up to current updates as of 1/30/2021.
I'm connecting to the internet on 100mb down/10mb up Cable with steady bandwidth both ways.
Update on this. The exact same thing happens to me even in Windows 10 Minecraft Bedrock playing on my 10-player realm. (by myself).
I get into my realm ok on my Switch and I can play for about 15 minutes then actions stop visually applying. After another 15 seconds of that I get "disconnected from server" or a completely black screen, or a large "Loading" window that never goes away. After logging back in after forcing the Switch app to quit I find my realm exactly like it was before I logged in – all 15 to 30 minutes of building and changes lost. This has happened about 8 times. Tired of building the same project over and over again then getting it lost.
EVEN if I stop building after about 15 minutes in anticipation of it disconnecting me, and "quitting and saving game" so as to make ure my progress is not lost. Quitting and coming back in a while later reveals that the "save" never applied and I'm back to the beginning again.
So... no matter if I am disconnected or "save and quit" to get out of the game, my realm doesn't seem to save the changes that are made.
The realm is a survival realm with default texture only.
I believe this is working now. Unlike real ones, Minecraft cats finally look at me instead of looking straight ahead as if I weren't there. 😉
I agree... autosave runs far too often. It would be nice to have a setting that could be set by the user for minimum amount of time before autosaving.
Going to the instructed http://aka.ms/remoteconnect works... I can log in to my account there... then it says "Done! You've successfully logged in..." but the Bedrock Minecraft 1.14.1 on Nintendo Switch just sits there waiting to give me the "Successfully logged in" notice ...forever.

I can confirm this issue on Nintendo Switch as well. Sometimes makes it difficult to go through 2h x 1w entryways because blocks in the walls seem to make auto-jump kick in. Must precisely enter doorways or auto-jump will prevent you from "sliding" around a corner or hugging a wall while walking.
I can verify this on multiple platforms. I am experiencing this starting with 1.13.0 in Nintendo Switch and Windows 10 Bedrock edition when playing in a Realm.
It seems that when you "Save & Quit" it doesn't save, or if it does save, it is not used on the next login if nobody else is on the server.
It appears, when logging in, like the last "backup save" is used instead of the last "Save & Quit" save, which means the next time you log in, the Realm is back in time anywhere from 5 to 40 minutes of game time. It also spawns you in whatever spot you were in at the time of the last auto-save game backup. Once I spawned way oput oin the middle of nowhere where I had been travelling.
I tried this theory by waiting to log out until the game had just auto-saved seconds before. When I logged back in I was where I should be with the correct changes done. If I do a bunch of stuff before it auto-saves and "Save & Quit", the things I did after the auto-save are lost the next time I log in.
If your only world is a Realm, then your world data is not erased when your Switch saved game data is erased.
Most of my video performance problems started the day I decided to pick a custom skin. After that, frame rate was horrible and laggy and such.
The only way I was able to fix it was to go into the Switch settings and delete all the saved game data completely, then re-enter my login and password for the xbox acct and start fresh.
Starting fresh restored it completely. I've been afraid to look through skins ever since lol.
Still not turning heads in version 1.11.2...
Since the old portals are stuck in space according to only the seed of the world, and they cannot be modified by any normal means, can't you just make an update to restore all the existing portals?
It would seem possible since it is exactly like you already do a restore to the big obsidian obelisks whenever a new ender dragon is spawned — just fix all the portals like you fix all the obelisks and main portal every time the ender dragon is born!? 🙂
I'm getting stuck in end portals that lead to the outer islands, without suffocating. Just stuck with no damage but all black. Throwing a loyalty trident causes it to never return.
This is in the Windows 10 Bedrock version (running new hotfix update from 2019-05-01 v1.11.102.0) of a downloaded Realm in survival mode with pre-1.9.0 generated portals.
Also happening in the Realm when using Nintendo Switch.
Devs: I can MailBigFile a zipped export of the world if you like. (Saved with my character stuck in the portal lol)
