I had been facing the same problems but I was able to fix it by downloading a resources pack that had separate font of text. I ran my game and it has been running flawlessly!!

and after sometime the game just hangs you continue hearing sounds, you can see you cursor upon clicking esc but you cannot do anything except closing the window

Almost everything changes it colour to green.
