This could be a parity thing (MCJE to MCBE). I know I've seen that behavior in Java 1.16 where the light source block still shows a light perimeter 'outline' even with night vision on. So I believe it's an expected behavior. (The screenshots in this post are from Java Edition, but relative to the issue)
