MCL-14292 1.6.93 legacy launcher can't download newer versions due to switch away from S3 Cannot Reproduce

Comments

Well the other option would be to talk to Twitch to fix their Launcher, I don't know if a lot of other OS really rely on the old legacy launcher.

The problem is Twitch, that is correct, but also because mojang switched to their own distribution network and never supplied a jar launcher which works on that.

Perhaps Mojang has some more power to talk Twitch into supporting the correct launcher correctly.

I guess the exception people are talking about is:

which is caused by mojang disabling the s3 downloads.

Unfortunately Twitch doesn't really update their app correctly on mac so it doesn't support the new 2.x native launcher and we are stuck with the jar launcher (perhaps people on Linux, Debian etc too.)
