Update on previous comment – I was able to make the "purchase" button appear again in the minecraft store by going to the Apple App store and trying to purchase something else causing me to enter the AppleId credentials.  Then I stopped and restarted Minecraft and the purchase buttons appeared again.  when I click to purhcase, I am then re-asked to authenticate with the AppleId.

Anyway, that all being said, after all the steps I took above, the problem still persists. The app just hangs trying to download this content.

Any next thoughts? Are there any options to upload client-side logs somehow that might help to inform where the problem might be?

Clearing my storage had no effect. It was empty and still got stuck downloading.  I hard-pressed the app to delete it it and reinstalled.  What was interesting is that when I reinstalled it, the app still new my Xbox live account name, and did not ask me to sign in.   That's kind-of-weird – is there some local cached data that is not getting cleared when I delete the app, or is there a different way I'm supposed to delete my app-specific data? Anyway, after the reinstall, I then tried to go to the store to (re-)purchase/download the world I'm having trouble with, but there was no button to purchase, and it wasn't in my list of purchased worlds.   Weird.

Next, thinking my problems might be because Minecraft is somehow caching my xbox live account info somewhere, I first signed out of Xbox live from settings, and then deleted the app.  This time, after re-installing, it had no information on my xbox live account and redirected me to re-authenticate when I hit sign-in.    However, when I was sent back to the app authenticated, I still had the same problem described above where I no longer had the option to purchase worlds with my appleId, so I can't continue to try to reproduce the issue.

I should mention that this is one of my kids ipads and we have been using their own AppleId. This family member is part of my family group in both Apple and Microsoft ecosystems, and within Apple they are set up to make purchases through their AppleId with the workflow that I approve them.  They also download the app through family sharing.

I don't know if any of this is relevant to my original problem of not being able to download a purchased world from the minecraft store, or my new problem of not being able to even attempt to purchase world from the minecraft store, but I thought I would mention it.

This has all worked fine in the past.  It is only recently that this has stopped working with MineCraft.

One more thing to add.  I was from the store able to download worlds listed in my already purchased list, so the act of downloading works.  That being said, I never tested that scenario when I was originally having trouble downloading newly purchased worlds, so maybe that was always working an irrelevant to the my problems.

I will continue to chip away at this as time allows.. Thanks.

I’ve downloaded 1.9.0 on an iPad running iOS 12.1.3 and it still didn’t work. I’m hanging trying to download a world purchase. I noted there was an upgrade for iOS 12.1.4 and tried that but same thing... just hangs with “purchase in progress - this shouldn’t take long”
