The fix that was mentioned by Matthew worked for me, but only on some of the chests. Im not sure if the direction matters with the fix, as I think the chests that did not get fixed were facing a different direction than that of the ones that were getting fixed. I will try to see if chests facing different directions will all load.
The fix that was mentioned by bug report MC-66004 worked for me, but only on some of the chests. Im not sure if the direction matters with the fix, as I think the chests that did not get fixed were facing a different direction than that of the ones that were getting fixed. I tried a creative mode test in a superflat world and found this out:
-After Death, all chests will go invisible (trapped and normal) but ender chests seem to stay
-After opening the chests you wish to load, providing a single block update anywhere in the chest's chunk.
--Even works if block update is outside the chunk that the chest is in
-The chest MUST be opened at least once before you provide a block update to get it to render.
Specifics of the test:
-I had 3 separate chunks, one for ender, one for trapped, and one for normal chests marked out that were non adjacent.
-None of the 3 chunks were the spawn chunk
-In each chunk:
--I had each chest placed in every direction (North/South/East/West).
--I had every chest placed in every way possible (double, single).
--I had the chunk border marked in andestite.
--I had a block of granite placed below each chest (to be able to locate on reload).
