Another update: The next time I played, I made sure to give it a solid 25 minutes before using the command /music play music.game to get the music going again, confirming my suspicion that (at least for the time being) I will need to manually start the background music via commands every time I join my realm.

Another update: The next time I played, I made sure to give it a solid 25 minutes before using the command “/music play music.game” to get the music going again, confirming my suspicion that (at least for the time being) I will need to manually start the background music via commands every time I join my realm.

Promised update: Played again for a few hours last night, remaining in the same deepslate/lush cave/mineshaft area the entire time. No background music played as I waited for an hour or so before running the same command as before, after which one of the new songs played (again, the song that actually played was not the song I specified, but I believe this is just due to the biome/environment I was in). After this point, background music continued playing at normal intervals, with tracks that (if I remember correctly) were consistent with the environment.

I have a suspicion I will have to manually play a track to get things going each time I join my world until this bug is fixed, and will post another update after my next session.

Another update: I used command “/play music miceonvenus” and it sort of worked… both times, I got a message that the track was queued to start playing, but the first time what actually played was Living Mice, and after I got tired of waiting for it to start playing something naturally again, the second time I entered the same command (again, for Mice On Venus), Below And Above played (maybe because the first time I was in a plains, and the second, I was in a deepslate/lush cave/mineshaft?). Didn’t get a chance to play long enough to find out if the normal background music will go back to normal functioning, will try again in the next 24 hours when I have more time and report back.

I have a feeling I have the same issue on my Bedrock (Xbox) Realm world, or something very similar/connected.

Update: music disks play as normal, confirming it is only the ambient/background music that seems to be affected.

Quitting the game, resetting the console, etc. have all been tried, and do not make any difference.

I’m having this issue now. Either my son or I can join my realm without an issue, but we both get the same error as soon as the other tries to join the session on the same Xbox. We’ve never had this issue before, and we’ve confirmed we’re not logged in anywhere else.

I’ve closed and reopened the realm and restored it from backups a few times, which should have kicked out any “ghosts” the system thinks are playing, but so far, no luck. Downdetector is currently getting reports of potential server authentication issues, which could be a factor.
