Every projectile can destroy end crystals, this wouldn't be a bug
Indeed, but these anvils don't disappear, but simply "pop"/break, as you'd usually see with sand or gravel falling on a torch.
I put an extra platform under it so I don’t fall and as far as I know, if the blocks under the portal are full blocks you don’t fall so you only fall if there are slabs under the portal frame. This is a realm world.
