After the 1.21.120 update, all my Microsoft child accounts on Windows 11 cannot log into Minecraft anymore and keep getting the Drowned error code. We have already attempted:
Deleting caches, Reinstalling Minecraft from scratch
Changing the child’s Windows Password on their account
Trying on different PC
Tested adult accounts work and have no login errors
The ONLY TEMPORARY work around is to:
Load Minecraft and ignore the error first
ALT TAB to go to control panel > Advanced Network Settings > DISABLE the Internet > either/both WIFI or Ethernet depending which one is in use
ALT TAB back to Minecraft and Click Sign in (This will change the default profile to the child’s account/profile
ALT TAB back to Control Panel to re-enable the Internet
ALT TAB back into Minecraft and press PLAY
This will somehow allow the child’s profile to stay and play with all the saved worlds in the account.
HOWEVER, once the game quits/exit, this whole process needs to be repeated to re-login.
