Lately I have been trying to build a road. I have built a road over water. Then started up. I came to a place where I had to lower a part of the hill by one so I could put stain making it possible to walk to the top of the hill. I needed to remove two blocks of dirt. Now comes the problem: I take away the dirt, and them it crashed within the next minute. When I get back on the game all the dirt I removed it back.
(I have already tried it over 30 times) I have had the same problem at several places. Also I have a block of cobblestone I accidentally place on top on a road, and now every time I try to remove it, the game freezes and crashes but it is still there. I started building roads, because the lack of a command the tells me where I am in the world, roads are the easiest way to find my way to find my way around the world.

With 0.14 this bug has been fixed. And it no longer works and is resolved.

As of 0.13.1 this was actually working correctly so this bug is resolved.

It suddenly included "export" and "import" both of which don't work at all. Actually I have only tried "export" as it freezes and crashes when I do so there is no export worlds to try to import. I tried to make a pick axe today several times and it kept crashing while I was doing it. I put 8 iron ore in a furnace, it crashed, and after starting the game again, the ore was gone, not in my inventory or in the furnace, just gone. This bug is not fixed. I don't play as often because of how often it crashes. I attempted to make stairs. Sometimes it crashed and I lost cobblestone. between 16 and 48 pieces. Sometimes it succeded. I time it failed 5 straight times before I succeed to obtain the needed stairs. Anytime I try to craft something it will often crash, and anything on the crafting are always lost as well as what is held in your hand. If you click on something to move to the crafting table, and it crashes it is lost. If mining a straight line underground, if it crashed, sometimes when I return to the game I will find myself directly above where I was on the surface or on top of a tree. In other words, nothing has changed. I like some of the improvement in the most recent update. If you could get this one issue solved, the game would earn 5 stars instead of 3 stars I have currently rated the game.

Yes, it continues in 0.13.1. I have been trying to build a tower. 5x5 of cobblestone. Sometimes I can add one layer of cobblestone about 16 of them, it suddenly crashed and the cobblestone is lost. It is not on the tower nor is it in my inventory. It is just gone. I just got e-mail asking if it still happens in version 0.13.1 today. Sometimes I don't play because it is so difficult to do anything. But sometimes it will go a while with no problem. However if I access a chest, crafting table, or furnace it is much more likely to crash.

I have been having a problem which I believer is related to or cause by this problem.
If I put items in a chest, and the program crashes sometimes the items are lost. Afterwards they are neither being held by me or in the chest I put them in. Also, sometimes I can take down a wall with a new undamaged pickaxe, then if it crashed, I will find the wall is still there, but the pickaxe is damaged and the cobblestone I picked up, I still have. Also if I take charcoal or iron ingots out of a furnace then it crashes I will find I have the items I took out of the furnace, but they are also still in the furnace. It appears that the program saves what I am carrying, but craches before being able to save what is around me like the world map and what is in the furnace or crafting area for example. Does this give a clue as the what might be wrong?

I had to go back to Windows 7 because of some unrelated problem, but when I returned to windows 10, it was working properly. No more problems on this although a different problem has been found.

It has been over a month now, and it is still not working.

I would offer more information, but Windows 10 Minecraft doesn't create crash reports of any kind.

It is very difficult to play the game when I have to restart every so often. today I wanted to make torches. So I presses "e" and made a plank into 8 sticks but before I could add the coal the game suddenly shut down and I lost the sticks. This happened 4 time with about 3 times it shut down before I made the sticks. once as I pressed the "e" key. I had a world that was going good before all this started. Then suddenly it started shutting down for no obvious reason and without warning.

I am using Windows 10 version, but I start a world in survival mode. I create a portal and enter it and it freezes up on me. I have tried several times on several worlds. And it always freezes on me. also happens on 0.12.1 on windows 10.

I don't actually know why he did that. But what I do know is that a directory name contains a name and an extention like any other file.
"name" and "name." both refer to directories with a blank extention as most directories have a blank extention unless you actually give it one. By calling it something like "name.a". It could be that is not what they intended but with the operation system the way it is, it is the best that could be done.

Since in most versions each world is saved in its own directory and "name" and "name." refers to the same directory, then worlds called "name" and "name." would always refer to the same world. Impossible to change that because that is part of the operating system of the computer and not minecraft.
