It still exists in 25w42a - latest snapshot. I was playing in my current world 1.21.10 and a huge ocean I have only generated in 25w41a and in this ocean 6+ shipwrecks had empty buried treasure maps which uses the empty maps texture but called buried treasure map and when used it will become a simple map.
