Hey guys I've been getting this error still. The situation Incarnate describes is the same for me - HDD dies with old install on it, trying to install with a new HDD. I'm going to go ahead and use their fix but before I do I thought I'd give some extra info about the situation as having a CD (or any disk at all) inserted changes some behavior: Executing the installer with a CD inserted lets me get to this screen:

And using either function gives me this:
[media]
I don't have a blank CD to see what happens if there actually is space to use unfortunately ;c
