MC-214242 Lava from dripstone fills cauldrons three times faster than water Invalid

Comments

I will admit it's a suggestion how I'd do it better, but the root cause is that the cauldron takes only one unit to be filled while water takes three. That seems like a bug to me.

Reddit seems like a lousy place to suggest bugs because they'll quickly be lost. I rather doubt anyone re-scans the entire history to see if there are good suggestions which should now be implemented.

The Feedback page leads back here: which I presume simply means it's not well designed.

Correctly implementing a bad design seems like a bug to me. But if fixing the bad design is a feature request, I'll accept that.

Makes sense. Black is black. There is no "Bright Black". At worst, the Wiki simply needs a note added that it won't effect Black.

I would suggest separating and marking as not-a-bug for cauldrons filled with lava.

I sometimes see blue (water?) particles from lava dripping from dripstone into an empty cauldron (21w05a/b).

I'd never been to the End (or Nether). But I'd died and when I returned to my Overworld underground base the torches were not casting any light. Placing a new torch fixed all of them.

This is probably what just happened to me. I had excavated a large-ish underground room at the end of a small cavern and put down a bed, campfire, crafting table, furnace, and storage boxes. I'd been using the area often over the past two or three RL days and had used it several game-days yesterday. At one point I needed to quit the game for a bit; I left myself standing next to the bed with blocks clear to 5 blocks tall. When I returned, I was suffocating and had to wait out the respawn. I was able to rush to the surface and retrieve my entire inventory (sans experience orbs) directly above the point I logged out at (I checked the coordinates).

Possibly replated: earlier, on a number of worlds, I've not suffocated but I've found myself unable to move after breaking a block (leaves, log, dirt, sand, stone, it does not seem to depend upon block type). The area appears clear of blocks but I cannot move. I can usually jump to escape but once or twice I'm needed to relog.

Possibly also related: occacionally, after breaking a block (usually leaves) the block remains visible but is a phantom. I cannot re-break it and can move freely through it. The block remains visible until I leave the area and return.

Possibly also related: After the suffocation death, and dash upstairs for my inventory, when I returned, the area was dark even though there were several torches. Placing a new torch caused all to shed light, again. Since them, however, my campfire does not animate, but does poof particles. This persists across relogs, restarts of the game, and cold starts of the system.
