I was farming wheat when i noticed i didn't have as much wheat as i should, so i went back, planted seeds and fully formed wheat appeared on some tiles as unbroken even though i already broke them.
Steps to Reproduce:
Create a 10x10 farm plot.
Plant wheat seeds.
Wait for the wheat seeds to fully grow (Set the randomtickspeed to a high number to speed up the process and set it back to default when done).
Harvest the wheat.
Replant the wheat seeds.

Thank you for your report. Could you provide a video of this happening? Also, can you clarify if it always happens in a particular place, or always everywhere, or randomly in one place, or randomly everywhere?

The duplicate report provided this link to a video of this bug.
Another user provided this link to a video in a comment on MCPE-48914.
The second video linked above shows an extremely high server time (>300), which I thought could be responsible for the unstable behavior. However, the first video shows sever time <10. It also shows that the location of the reappearing crops is random. It is likely that these crops were all broken in rapid succession, and it looks like the server did not register some the breaks and is updating the client when the client tries to update the block again. This could be related to the fix for MCPE-48914.

Block Lag: blocks reappear after you mine them

@Pig2Creeper “blocks reappear after you mine them” is not what this report is about. That is an accurate description of MCPE-48914, where the blocks reappear on their own. This report is about blocks reappearing when you try to place a new block in place of them.
Please only comment new information pertinent to the specific bug described in the report.

This also happens quite often while mining different ores. I noticed that I could get the blocks to reappear without placing a block by just hitting the use button where the invisible block is located, even say, eating a fish. Hope this helps.

I've found this pretty often while mining. I've only ever noticed it because I take suffocation damage when walking into that space.

This also happens with other things too, i was planting potatoes and sometimes when i did it would turn into a fully grown piece of wheat, this is on Beta by the way

This has been extremely frequent with sugar cane. A newly-grown 3rd segment will appear floating above the bottom segment. The middle piece cannot be broken while invisible.
[media]I've only noticed this on sugar cane grown below the surface with blocks overhead, but I haven't yet specifically compared it against a large patch grown outdoors.

Also, if you close and reopen the world then the blocks will reappear

Sorry, I accidentally deleted the second video from my drive... I just reuploaded and here is the link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LE-N2D4BOE4IoABvl2PrVLX6C3t-SOSY/view?usp=drivesdk

And here is an image where I dug out a chunk(with haste 2 and eff 5) and then when I reloged this was there(all blocks were gone before: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ICrs-mPCdipbzzgI1Jn1dUhOeK9i9Jd7/view?usp=drivesdk

this is not just with crops but with almost all blocks and you will suffocate if standing where the invisible block is

i have added a video in that as you can see for my second account handled by my friend cant see the block they hav gone invisible but i can see and break them

Same problem here men they really should fix this

I experienced this bug on my single player world while mining coal. this isn't the first time this has happened, but it was the first time i was able to reproduce it while recording. I can confirm that trying to update the block makes the original one appear. all previous occurrences were also while i was mining, and while it might be possible, I haven't experienced this bug with blocks I've personally placed, only with naturally generating blocks that I've tried to remove.

Sometimes crops are not washed away by water. There seems to be a regular pattern, in which block updates are missed. I also noticed, that sometimes upper sugar cane pieces don't fall down, when cutting the pieces below.
Not sure if this is related to the bug described here.

This is probably what just happened to me. I had excavated a large-ish underground room at the end of a small cavern and put down a bed, campfire, crafting table, furnace, and storage boxes. I'd been using the area often over the past two or three RL days and had used it several game-days yesterday. At one point I needed to quit the game for a bit; I left myself standing next to the bed with blocks clear to 5 blocks tall. When I returned, I was suffocating and had to wait out the respawn. I was able to rush to the surface and retrieve my entire inventory (sans experience orbs) directly above the point I logged out at (I checked the coordinates).
Possibly replated: earlier, on a number of worlds, I've not suffocated but I've found myself unable to move after breaking a block (leaves, log, dirt, sand, stone, it does not seem to depend upon block type). The area appears clear of blocks but I cannot move. I can usually jump to escape but once or twice I'm needed to relog.
Possibly also related: occacionally, after breaking a block (usually leaves) the block remains visible but is a phantom. I cannot re-break it and can move freely through it. The block remains visible until I leave the area and return.
Possibly also related: After the suffocation death, and dash upstairs for my inventory, when I returned, the area was dark even though there were several torches. Placing a new torch caused all to shed light, again. Since them, however, my campfire does not animate, but does poof particles. This persists across relogs, restarts of the game, and cold starts of the system.
This is on Windows 10 1909 18363.778, KB4550945 not installed. Under Bedrock Beta 1.0.16.58 through 1.0.16.60

@Gregory A Lundberg the campfire not animating is a new bug in 1.16.60, MCPE-76180. The lighting problem sounds like MCPE-69037. Your items being at the surface is described in MCPE-48370. Please vote for those reports!

This appears to be block lag but invisible.
It also appears that doing certain inventory actions in the same tick as mining blocks can cause this invisible block lag. The same applies to placing blocks (although it generates ghost blocks instead). These interactions seem to include using pick block, taking items from a chest, transferring items in your inventory and picking up items which then go on to fill an empty slot.
My theory is that when you mine stuff and then pick up the items while still mining, which stops the server from letting you place the block. This also explains why it rarely occurs when placing blocks, since there are no items to pick up. It also explains why it's usually only encountered in survival mode.
l managed to reproduce it in creative in this video (which is too big to upload) using a lag generator to slow the game down, but was also able to reproduce it without slowing the game down (although not as consistently) by rapidly firing items at the player while they were mining blocks in creative mode.

It makes sense to me if it's triggered by inventory actions. It seems to happen much more often with blocks that drop items, especially multiple items. It happens once in almost every vein of redstone I mine (with Fortune), but hasn't happened to me yet with veins of blocks that drop themselves (iron ore and gold ore). I am going to check if Fortune or not makes a difference.

Redstone drops lots of items, which means it's more likely to fill up a new slot in your inventory. Maybe that could explain why it happens more often with redstone ore for you.

I think it would be preferable if the previous "fix" to block lag was reverted, as it actually made it worse, not better, as well as adding some issues with ghost blocks.

Man I hope this gets fixed soon been months since I’ve been able to use an efficiency pick axe on sandstone or nether rack with out it being a nightmare

i think this is the issue im having with sand blocks. i mine them, but they dont look right when they fall, kinda glitch a bit, then when i log out and log back in, a bunch of sand blocks are littered in random spots.
im on beta

This fire in flying in air.

I can't reproduce this issue in 1.16.10 on Windows 10 Edition.

Affects 1.16.20. High enough Haste effects can also cause this

Affects 1.16.221

Still experiencing this issue

This is still an issue in the recent beta versions, especially in the Nether.

I also experienced this in the nether, I mined blocks, teleported to portal, the blocks I mined were mined but when I moved Steve to the blocks location that I mined I took damage like I was suffocating.

still an issue as of 1.21.71 hotfix
