[Xbox Series S/X] Default video settings (32 chunks, fancy graphics) cause GPU spike and console shutdown
On Xbox Series S/X, the console shuts down mainly during world generation because Minecraft defaults to 32 render distance and maximum graphics (real-time shadows, particles, etc.). This creates a sudden GPU workload spike. The console interprets it as overheating and forces a shutdown, even if the hardware is fine.
Workaround: Lower render distance to 12–16 chunks and disable fancy graphics. This avoids the crash entirely.
Proposed fix: Mojang should reduce the default video settings on consoles (especially render distance and advanced shadows) to prioritize stability instead of maximum visuals. Most players don’t change these settings before entering a world, so the game is effectively crashing “out of the box”.
