Minecraft has bugs. If you place a shield in the same spot as a black shield was before, it looks like a black shield.
Same with armor and armor trims.
Just sign in.
That is the name of any custom file-imported skin. When you are not signed in, it shows the name of your skin.
Also in 1.21.44 Hotfix, which is not a version yet according to bugs.mojang.com, though I am playing it and not in the Preview Versions.
