@JellySquid, the Shader Patch r2 makes the game pretty playable between 25-55 FPS on my side, if you have another patch let me know.
Same issue on my machine.

From 50-60 FPS in snapshot 20w21a to 8-10FPS in this (20w22a) snapshot
Did you remove the gold armor you are wearing?
