tried to download every back up possible on every device I own but now luck, I have enough storage. I believe that this problem has nothing to do with the devices but rather with some issues post 1.8.1, sill trying to hear something form support, till then dont know wat to think 😞
I have the same issue, I have a realm I cant download anything, always fail; I tried on xbox and Nintendo switch. Even contacted support, no answer yet, lucky me I pay for a realm and cant change textures or save the world, nor do I get decent support.

I have the same problem, tried to save realm to change textures and got the same error “failed” this is extremely frustrating I am paying for a realm I can’t modify or save. What am I suppose to do, there is no fix and no answers form mojang!
I got it to work finally, I followed your advice to load on pocket edition ant I worked, hole thing unlocked so now I'm able to download also on my xbox. thank you foe the support you're work is better than the actual support.
