I don't know if this is associated but sometimes the buttons on the home screen are black and the background is gray stripes.
And also, try and vote for this so it gets noticed.
I have tried making a options.txt that did not help, I have also tried switching from application to external and that did not help. This have been going on since 0.16.x and I am on the verge of deleting Minecraft. And trust me it is hard to walk away from such a great game I have been playing since 2013 and own all platforms. But this glitch is so bad and time wasting when I have to reset my settings and I look like a noob on servers (which also delete...) Because I have to use a skin from a skin pack. I dont want to delete it. But if this is not fixed by 1.2 I will delete it...
This also happens on my kindle fire.
Sorry for late response mega_spud... Changing the settings does not help. I used to be able to use the tool box for Minecraft pe and it would keep my settings but after 1.0.8 even it does not work...
How so I update this to newer versions. It is still affecting all versions beta and non beta

No I do not, David Lewis, it is getting to the point where MCPE is getting obsolete and am most likely gonna delete it, seeing as how I have had this problem for a while now and it still has not been answered...

Same tablet as reporter nvidia shield k1 same thing as video. Reported and commented many times.

Update. Mcpe now crashes when I exit from saving my settings. Not playing mcpe right now. 😞
This has been a problem for me also, my worlds were all still there and my storage is set to external but my skin,servers,and settings are all deleted and have to reeplace them apon entering the game. All files are intact in the minecraftpe folder. Using nvidia shield

Alright,so I left the beta and the options worked perfectly. And the file folder minecraftpe is now there. So I went back to the beta and this time the folder is still there but everytime I reenter the settings are reset. When I first go to the menu to replace them they are in the same place I left them,then they reset.
I reinstalled/downloaded and isn't there supposed to be a settings folder
