But it's not in PC. You can place trapped chests next to regular chests, and vice versa. ^^^
Here's an easy fix in the meantime, to solve your rage. *Turn off split touch controls.*

If not, then you have no way of knowing if it is a feature or not. Please stop going around with the tone that bug reporters are stupid.
I'm having the same issue on the iTouch 4G. It exists on the first generation Nexus 7 but isn't as bad.
Same issue on my Galaxy S20 FE and Pixel 3a XL.
