I was able to stop the leak by disabling “Improve Input Response” from the Settings/Video menu and restart the game.

Maybe it what I'm seeing.  When I build a beacon at y15 the beam disappears  when I go above y85.  

Is there another way to upload the world other than compressing the save folder for it?  The compressed save is over 1.2GB as is a backup I just made and the site doesn't allow uploads of more than 10MB.
