Don't know, didn't test it before I got a much higher powered machine.
Xavier Brown's advice is good for stability, though it makes the game run slow sometimes. I suspect the max fps setting means the render doesn't try to cheat on falling blocks - note that I specified desert terrain.
Thanks to the fact that I have a notebook, the application of an ice pack to the heat exchange is quite effective and means I can render at normal distance safely. However, this is brute-force hacking, rather than an elegant solution.
Thanks Kumasasa.
I did try searching for this. I hope I haven't wasted your time, as it was not clear from my end (as someone with only modest references to technical programming) that it had any relationship to a previous problem.
This is not a duplicate. I have encountered the same issue, and "treasure" maps are generating as "empty" maps.
I am not certain it is a 'bug', as previous treasure map generation caused an issue where attempting to open a shipwreck map chest would cause the game to freeze until a buried treasure was loaded.
