If the game is freezing it shouldn't be the Wifi
I found a video on how to fix it, but I believe it involves deleting all your worlds in the process but I don't think you want to do that.
What device do you use?
Does this happen on a Minecraft server? or on a Survival world?
@Avoma, if that was true why does Survival not work like that?
Or in the Bedrock counterpart...
