It is amazing to me how this problem continues to stay the game, and some devs continue to claim it is solely a user-sided issue. There are multiple mods and resource packs that have figured out how to fix the bug, but the devs can't even just copy their homework? The so-called fixes do not work for many people, and reluctance to fix the problem is just annoying at this point.
Added another example found, though this could be Mojang's attempt to simulate what is going on in the Arctic circle, in Minecraft.
