Confirmed. Used the long tunnel method, the wither did not follow me so I had to brave being exposed to it, it killed me then when I went back to it the health bar disappeared. Hopefully when I go back I will be able to fight it properly or I will lose hours of hard work that I've put into my world, not good.
I can confirm this for beds, bottom slabs too. They disconnect from the workstation and their bed and just stand there.
They seem to have a big problem with doors sometimes too. I will have villagers stood outside a house with an empty bed, likely the one they have claimed and they just stare through the door window longingly at their bed because doors are too hard....
I have had this happen. I had used "bottom" slabs as a 2nd floor and wondered why my villagers were not moving, changed for top slabs and they were fine
