This has also happened to me and many many others now. This glitch has apparently been happening for a long long time. It happens when you log out in a different dimension apart from the overworld. You can bypass the glitch using windows 10 edition and having the original xbox world running on generating world and then you'd have to use the same account and play on windows. But this doesn't count as your original character so you'll lose your items (ender chest items included). When you're generating the world others can still join in the back ground as well so this allows the bypass I mentioned.
