If it is a DxTory bug, it is one that was triggered by a change in MC. I have confirmed that switching back to 13w38c fixes the problem. My framerate settings are DxTory 29.97, MC 120 (default). Will test further with different framerate settings as well as hitting the water vs not and SSP vs SMP, and test today's snapshot also. Also note that I have tested with another computer using the exact same settings, and did not experience the problem, although it was accessing the server over a lan, and not on the same machine. It may also have to do with the capabilities of the machine, as my actual FPS during recording is in the low to mid 20s, and with the other computer it was closer to 15-17.
