My realm isn't quite as old, so I still have the 30-minute backups, but I definitely have the same issue. 10 player realm, nine members, file size quickly approaching 200mb, and it seemingly randomly crashes and reverts to the latest back up. My bootlegger fix is to manually download a copy of the world whenever I think about it, so that I have a semi-recent back-up of my own. This, of course, doesn't work when I'm not playing, or when I neglect to download a back-up, so it is far from perfect.

I had a similar issue. If you're the realm owner, save a copy of the world, open it in singleplayer, save and quit. Once back at the main menu, select the world you just left (the "<insert name here>'s Realm- Copy), go to the world options, click "Play on Realm", then select the realm you have been playing on, careful not to accidentally subscribe to a new realms subscription, and replace it. That will put the newly updated world on the realm server and make it available to play, rather than waiting for Mojang to update all of the realms on their own, which may indeed take the 48 hours.

Similar issue here, small, random chunks reverted, others not, after updating to 1.14. My difference, however, is that I actually reverted to a backup made just a few minutes earlier, and upon loading back in certain chunks were reverted. No crash, no corruption, no errors, just a simple reload of a back up of a world three months in the making, and some of the work gone. The issue seemed to go back a few hours, as reloading multiple backups didn't fix the issue until one about two hours earlier. A bummer for sure, but two hours lost is much better than a few months.

Still active in 1.12.1 on Xbox in realm. Three attempts to make a farmer yielded an armorer, tool smith, and fishermen, only workstation within several hundred blocks is a composter.

Wandering trader is the same, also only on realms. I'm using experimental game play, not sure if that has any correlation, but it is across all platforms (win 10, switch, pocket edition, and Xbox)

I'm currently experiencing the same issue on the latest Xbox one version (updated 1/13/17). The only portal in the over world I've made takes me to the nether correctly, but traveling from the nether-side portal creates a new portal in the over world. I've tried destroying both of the portals in the over world and resetting the nether, as well as destroying the portals, moving the existing one, and resetting the nether, all to no avail.
