I only have one controller and it works perfectly on other devices, so it's not very possible that it is a controller issue.
The controller also works normally in other games on the same ipad device.
I already tried replacing batteries but did not work. I speculate that it might be a software compatibility issue, since only the jump (and flying in creative) function doesn't work with a controller, touching screen works fine too.
