Oh... so redstone updates buds from further away... but how would changing that effect all redstone devices?

How does a redstone torch that is not touching the piston cause an update? The torch is diagonal to the piston, not touching it.

But something that is diagonal to a piston shouldn't be able to update it right? I don't think this is intended.

Redstone blocks work the exact same way as any regular powered block works (besides how redstone dust hooks up to it) so adjacent blocks do not get powered by redstone blocks.
