Added a screenshot I managed to get. It's when you pick up an item from the ground, and it's only visible when facing north. Also, it might appear as a blip in the sky instead. It just depends where you are looking. Snapshot 20w28a .
EDIT: I can easily recreate this with the drops, but I do believe it happens randomly at other times, too. No drops involved.
My apologies. I did try searching for the issue, but didn't see any results that matched. Will search more thoroughly in the future.
