I can confirm. I witnessed a villager standing on a bed in a two-block-high room suffocate because his head was buried in the ceiling. I couldn't break the bed in time to save him. Note that the player cannot jump onto such a bed - why can a villager?
Villagers don't seem to have a very strong sense of self-preservation - they will gladly wander off 3+ block high cliffs and take falling damage.
I also have this happening on game load in 1.13. There are some leashed horses in the pasture of my base. Sometimes when I load the game their leads have broken and they are wandering loose. When this happens on game load, the leads do not drop, I have to reattach them using new leads. When lead breaking happens on chunk reload after going away and coming back, the leads are dropped and can be reused.
This is occurring again in 1.13, though not consistently.
Sometimes when I load up my saved world, the leads in my pasture will be broken and the horses wandering around. Sometimes when I return to my base from far away, the leads have broken and the horses wandering around. The leads themselves may or may not be lying on the ground, typically not when it occurs at game load.
Still present in 1.13
Still present in 1.12.2, updated. Thanks for the reminder.
Just tested it in 1.10.2 Vanilla and it is still present.
Zombies still consistently pathfind to a point directly under where I am standing on the platform edge, rather than pathfinding up the staircase to the door that would let them actually get to me.
Endermen have improved a little - after moving to directly under me (this is reliable and consistent), they may occasionally teleport away to another location that then prompts them to teleport up onto the platform to reach me rather than to just move back to directly below me.
Can confirm still an issue in 1.21.4
