Hi, I have the same problem, Minecraft PE edition, version 1.7, load takes an age, you get Minecraft logo and then music followed by underwater scene (minus logo and menu) and the message "global resources reset resources failed to load previously" and the app shuts down.
There appears to be an issue when looking at iPad Storage in settings showing a large number (no byte size at end ie MB) of Documents and Data but iPad does not reciprocate this in terms of space used.
Recently uploaded Realms which worked first time after install, but subsequently this error occurred on launching Minecraft.
