Looked up what a snapshot was.
I upgraded, definitely.
I didn't load a snapshot.
I'm not sure what you mean by this, this world was created before 1.7 even.
The screenshots where the chunks interrupt everything are in 1,8
The screenshots where it's not are... 1.7.4? maybe? earlier probably.
Okay I found when the world folder was created.
August 31, 2012. It was up-to-date with the latest mine craft when created
