Kind of, yes. Before, I was deleting the launcher itself from my downloads, but all Minecraft files were intact (besides corruption). But uninstalling the launcher and deleting all files for Minecraft (with %appdata%) would give me a clean slate to redownload without any issues, but would delete my worlds. So you have to extract the saved files and put them somewhere else. Then you can uninstall the files.
Never mind. I found out how to fully uninstall the launcher and I installed it one more time. I've had this computer for 6 months, so I'm still not used to these things. Although, my saves were not present.
