Ok moderators an update. The 1.2.13.5 did allow my map to convert (finally). However, it did delete every map that was in an item frame. The item frames themselves are still there. Also every chest that was on the world disappeared also. No biggie. This is good enough for me. Maybe the 1.2.13 official update will fix that. On a side note Before conversion my world was 385.4 MB. After conversion it was 285. The BTU compresses the world while converting.
@Dylan The render distance? If that's the simulation distance then it is at max. 8 chunks I think.
Since the moderators wish to remove my comment I will repost it. Yes Michael it is the bug infested nonsense called the Better Together update. I did say a realm. When we turn the difficulty to peaceful whether or not there are people on the realm, it takes 24 hours to reset to peaceful from hard. Mobs still spawn and my stamina bar will decrease. Immediately spawns mobs when switched from peaceful to hard.
This bug isn't just isolated to the Windows 10 version. It occurs on the Xbox one edition as well. I play on a friends realm that we put on hard mode every Wednesday and Sunday, while every other day of the week is peaceful. After switching the realm back to peaceful from the main menu in realm options, with or without people on the realm, the mobs don't despawn and they spawn normally at night. We have noticed that after 24ish hours of nobody on the realm, the mobs will finally despawn.
@Michael zarda. It is an issue with the world itself. I deleted everything n my backup. Building, chests everything gone essentially a blank world, still won't get past 1%.
The 1.2.10.1 beta failed to fix the problem developers...
For everyone watching this issue, don't get your hopes up. 1.2.9 did not fix the issue. Syncs the old world a lot faster but still crashes when trying to convert. No change there still crashes before it gets to 1%.
@Mega Spud. I've already given you guys every little bit of info I can regarding this issue. From seed creation date, size all the way to the Minecraft patch number I was running when I made the seed as well as the amount of time I've converted the world to pc and back to 360 to make quick edits. What more info could you possibly need?
@Killerbeenl I forgot about that thanks. However using pictures Joseph 1 and Joseph 2, can you tell me if the map issue in my world is a bug? I am starting to think THAT is the reason my world won't convert, because of glitched out chunks. I tried looking on here and I couldnt find a thread for it. Is that even worth posting a bug?
I don't think the platform itself is the problem here. It's in the coding somewhere. My reasoning is simply put as any of my saves from before the general time period that the Xbox One version was released fail to convert over. Both of the saves that I started today on 360 converted over. Another world I found on a flash drive which I made a couple month ago on 360 which was 182.7 MB and converted fine. I didnt have to destroy map walls, redstone creations, chests or any of the other suggestions listed above.
Here you go Killerbeenl, the seed is 5046388949650554192. Before I got on here to give the seed I tried one other thing. I flew back to the spawn point of the new save on the 360, converted it to the one and this time it converted sucessfully to the BTU. However, it did change the seed while converting. It gave the world a new seed of 1180745040. Also, between creating the world back in Title Update 3 on 360 and now i have expanded the world size twice. The first time was after porting it to the Xbox One and going from Classic Size to Medium. I pushed it up to a Large map to try and convert over to the BTU and I stumbled on a Glitch /Bug in my world. One of the maps in the large portion wont load, the chunks load as I fly above them but the map in my hand always loads the center map. Has anyone else had this particular issue or is it just a bug in MY save? Maybe thats the reason it wont convert and I'm crying about something that is not patchable because its a bug in the Xbox One Edition and not the BTU. I uploaded three pictures to the thread for visual reference. Picture titled Joseph 1 is where the map that won't load is located in the world. Joseph 2 is the map that spawns in my hand when im down in the "unknown area." Joseph 3 is simply my receipt number so you can go and grab the world.
@Killerbeanl I will get that to you shortly as I'm at work right now.
@Daniel Bohn Johansen I started my world on Xbox 360 during the 1.7.3 (Title Update 3) update (before creative mode). The jungle update wasn't relaxed until (Title Update 12) which was released about a year after Title Update 3.
1.2.8 did not fix the issue. I doubt 1.2.9 will either. My world is 370.4 MB in size and in creative mode. Host option are active and it is a large sized map. The sync process goes faster and smoother after the 1.2.7 update. It still completes the sync process at 99% before moving on to trying to convert. How can it try to convert when it doesnt even hit 100% synced? Still crashes the whole game before it gets to 1%. Such a drag.
UPDATE: I tried going back onto the 360 and starting a new world with the same seed. Transferred to Xbox 1 fine but crashed the BTU when I tried to convert it. There is nothing on the world. Maybe the issue is with the seeds themselves?
No difference from any of the other updates. Minecraft still crashes before it gets to 1% conversion. I guess I'm waiting on the 1.2.8 update just to be disappointed again.
Don't know what the 321MB update was for on 10/21/2017 as minecraft did not say what's new, but the update did not solve the problem. Will admit, a lot smoother when fetching old saves though.
Not fixed with the 1.2.3 official release.
Still not fixed with the 1.2.3.3 beta build.
No Mitchell that is not the problem I'm having. I think there may be an issue in the coding of my world. I have been working on the same world for 5ish years now. It has been back and forth between the Xbox 360 and the java version of minecraft multiple times using OpryzeLP's Minecraft converter. I have edited the world a couple times using MCEdit. Over the weekend I tried to simply copy and paste the entirety of my world into a new world with the same seed using MCEdit. Even though it messed up in copying some of the chunks, the "new world" converted and opened with no further issues. Another one of my worlds which is a Planetoid/Skyblock Map that I downloaded off of the internet. It transfers fine and I know that it is a modded map made by a third party program on the computer.
So I'm not the only one then. I started my world back on 360 during version 1.12 back when saddles were made of cobblestone. When I try to convert it syncs the old data then tried to convert, gets to 2%, freezes, tries to sync old data a second time then crashes and sends me back to the Xbox home screen.
Hi everyone. To answer the main question above. The 1.2.13.5 beta is obtained from the Xbox insider hub on Xbox and Windows 10. And by scrolling all the way to the bottom of Minecraft in the app store or Google play. There will be an option to join the Minecraft beta.
On a second note, while the 1.2.13. Beta fixed the conversion issue 1.2.11 has the bug still there as it doesn't even try to sync the world before converting. My workaround is to:
1. Convert the world while on 1.2.13.5.
2. Once done converting, DO NOT open the world in 1.2.13.5, quit Minecraft all the way. Close the game not minimized.
3. Unenroll from the Minecraft beta from the insider hub.
4.Uninstall then reinstall Minecraft to return to the 1.2.11 build from 1.2.13.5.
5.Make sure it's 1.2.11 from the lower left corner of the main menu or under manage game.
6. Enjoy your newly converted Minecraft world that you can now make into a realm if you want.
