Definitely an old bug that's been around for a while. Would be very nice to have resolved since I still bump into this bug every now and then.

Try using an axe on carrots, melons, nether wart, tall grass, and gravel (increased chance of getting flint). You should see that you'll get more items than if you used anything else without fortune enchantment. This enchantment is defined as multiplying the drop rate of "items" from blocks, not "blocks" from blocks.

There is no enchantment that allows tools to yield more blocks from a single block.

You really thing this is not the same issue as MC-72? You really think there is a totally separate bug regarding witches spawning near witch huts? I mean how can one person claim witches spawn then despawn at witch huts, then another person claim witches "never" spawn at witch huts? Both are playing the same version of the game, but both claims can't possibly be true. Whether or not you had witches despawn, I'm pretty sure they are the same issue.

Just try hanging out by a witch hut at night and see if one spawns for you.

I know MC-686 was reported before MC-710, but that is irrelevant since they are still duplicates. Including that detail will hopefully help the mods organize the issues.

On a related note, how do you feel about armor being visible even though the player wearing it is not?

By the way, this is a duplicate issue of MC-72 and MC-710.

There is a 10% chance that a zombie will spawn as a zombie villager regardless if there is a village nearby. I encountered one while exploring in a deep underground cave.

The wiki is my source: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Zombie

I've actually seen several witches spawn in desert temples that appear in swamps, as mentioned in MC-659. Not yet seen a witch hut though. Witches are in the same mob category as skeletons and zombies and creepers, so maybe at night if you hang around a witch hut you may get one to spawn?

I agree though that this is buggy behavior.

Confirmed as well. I thought it was weird to find witches in the pyramid but didn't really think of it as a bug until I found this issue logged.

I've also seen chests glitching in this manner ever since animating chests were introduced. I can't reproduce it on demand, but when it does happen the chest stays open and will not close no matter what. Seems to happen more often when multiple players are accessing the chest at the same time.

I wouldn't call this a bug since it has always worked this way, as Liam already mentioned. This is more like an enhancement request.
