Hello,
I see one thing, when I join on the Realm the shadow apparear, but when I entry by the portal to Nether and come back the shadow is fixed, meaby the overworld upload again and for this reason fixed the shadow, but when I outside the game and come back, the shadow is broken again so I need go to Nether and come back for fixed again.

Sorry for the intrusion but this is not a bug, this is part of the update, or I think see that it is part of the update.

Does the issue occur if that resource pack is deactivated?
This happen wtih all resouce pack, I download the world on my pc and join in this map in "singleplayer" that this form the shadows is ok, but when I join in the Realm is happened this bug.
I make this:
Update all drivers .
Unistall and install the game.
Change the resouce packs.
restart and shutdown the computer.
All this not work, but when I joined with my martphone this shadows not apparear, only in pc.
Does this issue still occur if you exit world and join back in?
Yes, this problem persist if I exit and join back, meaby not in the same place but yes in other place diferent.
Today I unistall the game and install back and the problem persist.

Does the same issue occur on a local copy of the world?
No, only happen in the Realm server, I change on the Nvidia Panel Shadow Cache at 10Gb and this work so some times, but not every times.
Do you have any resource packs in use and does the issue occur if those are deactivated?
I have the resource packs by defect.
Do the shadows disappear when you move closer?
Nop, only dissapear the shadow if I broke one block, but only in a zone in specific, I can see more zones with this shadows.
