MCPE-485 No Clients can connect to host sever for SMP gaming when the host uses a One X Duplicate

Comments

It seems to exist with any HTC phones that is running on Sense version 3.0 and above. Have not tested it on a HTC One Sense 5 device though. But I presume it will be the same. I think it may be HTC changing some settings related to their phones connecting to WiFi AP that results in this issue.

This issue still exists in MCPE 0.6.1

@Adam,I believe the Desire not seeing the Excite is a one time occurance. Because this problem mostly only affects HTC devices not being seen while hosting. I have never experienced not seeing any other non HTC devices with my HTC phone.

This is the exact situation that I encounter with my One X too. Although I don't have much server lag issues. It's just the same lag that I encounter when joining others in their maps as clients over WiFi. And also, this is not fixed as of 0.5.0.

Hi Matthew, are you able to turn on Wireless Hotspot at all without having to pay (like does it charge you if you use data with hotspot or just by turning on hotspot)? This is because MCPE does not require any internet connection to run. It only uses the LAN server that the hotspot will create. So if your plan only charges if you access the internet with hotspot on instead of charging when you just turn the hotspot on, you can try to turn on Wireless hotspot without turning on mobile data (mobile data toggle is off) and try if your device can be seen by clients.
