This happened to my dad and I as well. We were in a dungeon, and one of us died and the other fell off the edge, and we got stuck on the bottom of the map. Also, the coloured arrows on the mini map in the corner of the screen were stuck facing the same direction. We were playing on version 1.1.1.0 on the Nintendo Switch.
