MCL-14610 Unable to launch Minecraft as a different user logged on computer Duplicate

I think it will help if you attach your launcher.log file which should be at %AppData%/.minecraft/launcher_log.txt

I've copied your file to the attachments (in case it makes a difference)

Have you clicked the installations tab and added the extra version that you wish to use?

I've noticed the same, no response from mouse clicks. MAC OS.

To get back mouse clicks (whilst keeping the game running) I've noticed that if I flip to another window click on something in that window then go back to Minecraft my mouse is now working.  I guess the mouse doesn't have focus on the game and therefore the clicks are not getting sent to Minecraft.

Maybe a launcher issue?

Steps to reproduce this bug on a Mac:

  1. install minecraft (as an admin user)

  2. switch to a normal user (or a different admin user)

  3. click on minecraft icon

  4. The error message "Unable to start Minecraft, if you are running from a dmg, please drag to Applications and try again" will appear on the screen

edit: added screenshots to show error and launcher version.

I can confirm this issue still exists in Version 777 (1) of the Minecraft launcher. I have tried it on two different Mac computers.

Mac version 10.15.5

Launcher version 777 (1)

Minecraft version 1.16.1

I can also confirm that the chmod fix does work... but needs to be done each time the launcher is updated.

Do you need any debug logs?

This issue is not resolved and happens on the current issue of the minecraft launcher.
