If the distance between two points is far enough, hitting them will cause no reaction from either of them. In other words, the moving source, the ender crystal will not be interfered with by anything.
That of the moving source will not be able to break the block behind it. It cannot break the blocks behind it, but it can break the blocks behind the one it is moving to.
