I am also experiencing this. I’m running on a gen 7 iPad on iPadOS 17.2. Here’s what I’ve tried: deleting and reinstalling the app and its data and a hard restart on the iPad. I also tried to update to most recent available IOS, but I do not have the storage required. iPad has 8GB of storage free (the previous version was less than 2). Previous version ran fine, downloaded prior version less than a week ago.
