Actually it’s supposed to deal damage, but it’s just not rendering it.

I’ve noticed this too. On the topic of reverting the change, the problem with jab attacks is that they’re very weak and slow compared to swords. If they were to change it back, the stronger spears would once again be clunky when having to jab with them, due to speed decreases for higher tiers.

It’s not just with skeletons. I’ve noticed it happen with passive mobs as well, and it probably affects other mobs as well.
