The issue they discuss is a problem some ps4 to ps4 users experience, not all since I know numeros people this works for. But when it comes to crossplay between ps5 and ps4 from personal experience, words from others and from what can be read online it does not work at all specifically between ps4 and ps5 which is a significant difference.
